What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Services Internship position at Family Haven?
Family Haven is a nonprofit organization with a primary purpose of preventing and treating child abuse. Our mission is to build a community of healthy, happy individuals and families through education and the prevention of child abuse, trauma and other personal and family concerns.
A social services internship at Family Haven usually includes working in our nursery, co-teaching parenting classes, co-teaching social skills group classes to children 5-11, co-planning quarterly events, representing the agency at community events, and helping with administrative tasks around the office. If you have any specific interests or skills or a project you're excited about doing, please let us know.
We do not offer virtual or weekend-only internships. Internships at Family Haven are hands-on and we need you on site during our business hours.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years old
- Enrolled in a social services-related Bachelor program
- Previous experience working with children is preferred.
