Pre-Authorization Nurse - Imaging Center (Full-Time) 042125
LOCATION: Imaging Center
CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT
REPORTS TO: Clinic Manager
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: Provides professional team-based care to patients. Assists in the continuum of care and in educating patients on their patient-centered medical home.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
1. Perform prior authorization process by receiving information from the clinics and pharmacies and contacting insurance companies for prior authorizations including but not limited to imaging services, medications and other services.
2. Handles all requests for prior authorizations in a timely and accurate manner.
3. Communicate professionally and timely with all customers internal and external.
4. Document information in regarding the prior authorization in the appropriate locations in the patient chart – or other system as required.
5. Arranges for patient testing and admissions.
6. Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
7. Orders, prepares, and inspects patients’ charts. Posts tests and examination results.
8. Performs related work as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or practical nursing
Preferred:
1. One year of professional nursing/practical nursing experience in a clinic setting
2. Word processing and computer experience
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:
1. Valid state license to practice as a Registered Nurse/Practical Nurse
2. CPR certification
