What are the responsibilities and job description for the PGY1 Resident Pharmacist position at Family Health Care?
Family Health Care is seeking qualified candidates for the position of PGY1 Resident Pharmacist. This position is responsible for taking on the role of clinical pharmacists and provide care to patients in both the ambulatory care and community pharmacy settings under the guidance of skilled preceptors.
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing clinical care to patients and functions as an integral member of the health care team.
- Fills and dispenses medications, and provides vaccinations.
- Collaborates with Ferris State University to provide both didactic and experiential teaching and mentoring.
- Understands the importance of and models a positive attitude and respect towards patients, co-workers, and visitors as outlined in Family Health Care's Customer Service Standards.
- Understands and demonstrates the ability to protect patient privacy according to HIPPA laws.
- Maintains appropriate certification/licensure education and required competencies in order to perform established procedures and sustains regulatory compliance.
- Attends meetings and participates on committees or works groups as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- Currently holds a State of Michigan Pharmacist License and Controlled Substance License or is eligible to take the Michigan Board License exam, and will sit for exam as soon as possible. Must pass license by the end of the 90 days of the start of the residency.
