At Family Health Centers of San Diego, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Healthcare Professional to join our team at our new La Mesa Family Health Center.
The ideal candidate will have experience in building a new pediatric practice and working independently. We offer full-time and part-time opportunities (minimum 4 days per week) with rotational Saturdays every 6-8 weeks, weekend newborn rounding at the hospital every 6-8 weeks, and phone-based call schedule (7 days) every 6-8 weeks.
Responsibilities:
- Provide caring, affordable, high-quality healthcare and supportive services to everyone, with a special commitment to uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved persons.
- Complete all required documentation accurately, timely, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards and to comply with electronic medical record requirements.
- Follow FHCSD policies and procedures, including cooperating with the timely submission of credentialing and licensing paperwork; maintaining BLS certification; maintaining CME units based on the requirements of the specifying Board; attending all mandatory meetings; minimizing incident reports; using resources efficiently and practicing medicine in a cost-effective manner.
- Maintain FHCSD behavioral standards, including effective listening and communication skills and respectful interactions with colleagues and patients.
- Meet clinic site and organization needs in a reliable and flexible manner; prioritize work and make an effort to adhere to schedule.
- Participate in Clinical Outcomes Program and work towards meeting organizational targets for all metrics.
- Participate in administrative duties, including lab reports, charts, and medication refills reviewed and managed appropriately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Supervise NP/PAs in a timely and responsive manner.
Requirements:
- Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County.
- Graduated from an accredited school of medicine.
- Three years of residency training in pediatrics.
- Board certification in pediatrics (or board eligible for new graduates).
- Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS).
- DEA license.
- Must possess current unrestricted license to practice in the State of California.
- Second language fluency in Spanish or Tagalog preferred.
