What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Triage Line position at Family Health Services?
Family Health Services is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides quality, affordable primary care, dental, and behavioral health services. Our “high touch, high tech” clinics offer unique patient focused care to anyone in the community, regardless of their ability to pay. We are rapidly growing in Sandusky, Ohio at our two locations as well as in Norwalk, Ohio and surrounding areas. We also offer behavioral health and primary care at several local schools in hopes of eliminating barriers to those needing services. Family Health Services is looking for an MA, LPN or RN to fill our Nurse Triage line within the Call Center.
This position would support the operation of the clinic by maintaining the Nurse Triage line and representing the office with professionalism. This position requires the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities, handling patient requests, answer calls, returning voicemails, placing outbound calls to patients, and handling any other administrative tasks with a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
1.Receives Nurse Line calls and addresses patient needs.

2.Directs questions to appropriate personnel according to policy.
3.Documents phone calls and conversations in record as needed according to policy.
4.Effectively communicates with both internal and external customers to ensure smooth operation of the clinic.
5.Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and clinic space utilization by efficiently scheduling appointments according to policy.
6. Faxes, scans, files, and mails documentation as necessary
7. Collects and posts patient payments utilizing office software, provides patient receipts for payments
8. Provides a positive patient experience by anticipating the needs of patients, answering patient’s questions, and maintaining a clean and presentable front office and reception area.
9. Assists in maintaining office equipment.
10. Demonstrates effective communication skills.
11. Responds to crisis situations according to policy.
12. Maintains knowledge of clerical, personnel, medical policies and procedures.
13. Adheres to the standards and policies of the Organizational Privacy/Security
and Compliance Programs, including the duty to comply with applicable laws
and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, OIG, guidelines, other State and Federal
Laws). This also includes reporting to the Board of Directors, Compliance
Officer, Privacy Officer, supervisor, suggestion box, and any suspected
unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts of practices.
14. Must be familiar with the operation of FHS office and be available to work
varying hours as necessary.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

This job has frequent exposure to dust, constant activity and noise, hands in water, excessive heat, cleaning agents, excessive cold, dampness, excessive humidity, and dry atmospheric conditions.

Must have the ability to travel independently throughout the facility to access information from other departments. Must have the ability to sit for long periods of time. Required Education and Experience
High school diploma with and knowledge of computers and data entry required.
Certified Medical Assistant with 3-5 years experiences in clinic setting
Preferred Education and Experience
LPN or RN preferred
