Family Health Services is a Federally Qualified Health Care Center located in Sandusky and Norwalk, Ohio and serving the Erie and Huron County area. We are currently looking for a Site Director. The Site Director position is responsible for performing a variety of duties and overseeing office and nursing related workflow to promote patient quality care. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing specific procedures working closely with the Directors.
Essential Functions
- Ensure that all front desk and nursing orientation training is conducted.
- Participates in recruitment and retention of front desk and nursing staff.
- Supervises and coordinates schedules, coverage, time off requests, daily activities, and operations of front desk and nursing staff and provides back up coverage when needed.
- Develops processes to analyze, monitor, and implement solutions with workflow and quality standards.
- Schedules and prioritizes office activities to meet operating requirements.
- Provides administrative support functions such as data management, creating reports, drafting correspondence, and effectively communicating findings.
- Knowledgeable and able to assist with processing patient payments, setting up payment plans, Medicare/Medicaid enrollment, and monitor deposits.
- Engages in daily communication with Directors, as appropriate, regarding potential barriers to workflow and quality.
- Performs various duties, depending on education, to ensure quality nursing care is provided to patients. Maintain or attain the highest practical level of functioning and to coordinate total nursing care for the patients as illustrated by the following:
- Responds to crisis calls; help triage patient concerns and immediate needs; calls appropriate ambulance/emergency service as needed; follows up with patient’s family/emergency contact; notifies treatment team/provider.
- Assists with prior authorizations for medication and services; communicates updates with patients, staff, and providers.
- Completes 30 day, 90 day, yearly reviews, and on-going feedback for Charge Nurses, MA’s, CMA’s, LPN’s, front desk and all supervised staff on work performance, personnel issues, communication, collaboration, etc. as it pertains to agency values and mission statement.
- Will determine that nursing tasks are safe and appropriate to delegate to an unlicensed person to perform, that the unlicensed person has the necessary training, ability and skill to perform the delegated nursing task. Will also closely work and communicate with Medical Director and Psych Medical Providers to ensure nursing tasks are safe and appropriate.
- Safely stores medication samples and routinely tracks expiration dates, storage conditions, amount, and any related materials or resources.
- Will help coordinate courier services for McKeen Pharmacy.
- Ensures staff maintains the safety and privacy of patients. Ensures general office space, lobby, hallways, and triage rooms are clean; contacts maintenance and housekeeping as needed with requests.
- Receives patient grievances, completes incident report forms and supervisor follow up forms, as appropriate.
- Plans and organizes purchase of office and medical supplies as deemed in accordance with purchasing policies and budgets.
- Plans, organizes, and blocks appropriate schedules for meetings with outside agency/drug company representatives, service line/site specific meetings, and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises front desk staff as well as MA’s, CMA’s, LPN’s, and all supervised nursing staff at specific clinic site.
Required Education and Experience
- State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with at least five years of field experience.
- Applicant must have current CPR/BLS certification and maintain CEUs. Stay up to date on licensure, certification, nursing skills.
- Applicants must be organized, able to prioritize assignments, problem solve, multitask, have good time/choice management and able to follow through on tasks.
- Must be able to make decisions on the spot and handle fast-paced office environment.
- Must be proficient in computer knowledge – Microsoft Office, Excel, and EMR. Must have knowledge of medical terminology.
- Possess good customer relationship and communication skills, independence, and initiative with a strong work ethic.
- Need to have effective communication, able to give and receive constructive feedback, and clearly define tasks when delegating.
- Ability to work with a culturally diverse group of people and understand population specific needs with behavioral health and substance use.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Preferred state licensure of Registered Nurse (RN)
- Previous leadership experience for at least two (2) years.
- Previous work experience in a community mental health center or behavioral health facility for at least two (2) years.
- Strong customer service and knowledge base of clinical care standards.
