Job Summary: The Certified Nurse Midwife provides comprehensive obstetric, gynecological, and family planning care. This includes routine labor and delivery management, prenatal and postpartum care, and women's health services in an outpatient setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide prenatal, postpartum and full-scope gynecological care, including family planning and colposcopy.
- Prescribe medications and treatments.
- Manage labor and delivery and round on postpartum patients and newborns.
- See well newborns up to 28 days of age in accordance with CNM scope of care.
- Collaborate with physicians and refer patients for specialized care as needed.
- Manage high-risk pregnancy, labor and delivery in collaboration with Sanford Maternal Fetal Medicine and ObGyn providers.
- Follow up on abnormal results, including lab tests and diagnostic studies.
- Serve as a mentor by precepting students and contributing to teaching initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Current unencumbered North Dakota CNM/APRN license with prescriptive authority.
- Graduate of an accredited nurse-midwifery program.
- Current certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
- Prior experience working in women's health, community health or with underserved and racially diverse populations preferred.
- New midwifery graduates considered with relevant prior nursing experience.
