What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Hygienist position at Family HealthCare?
Family HealthCare (FHC) is seeking a full-time Dental Hygienist. This position will work with the dental team to provide high quality care and positive patent experience to a diverse population.
The Dental Hygienist performs professional dental care in the field of dental hygiene including all related clinical procedures. Has broad responsibilities for clinical and community dental health education activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides oral prophylaxis including instruction for proper home care techniques for oral hygiene including proper toothbrushing, flossing, nutrition, and need for professional care.
- Provides oral topical fluorides including screening and evaluating patients regarding caries detection, periodontal pathology, medical history, exposing, processing, and mounting of radiographs.
- Provides supra and subgingival scaling and curettage, root planing, and procedures involving team periodontal surgical techniques.
- Performs duties where qualified, as delegated by dentist and governed by state law.
- Performs gross debridement in treatment of acute and chronic periodontal conditions.
- Primarily responsible for the initiation and maintenance of the dental prevention and dental education program.
- Support the organization as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduation from an approved school for dental hygiene.
LICENSE, REGISTRATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION:
- Licensure in both the states of North Dakota and Minnesota preferred.
- Current CPR Certification or ability to become certified within 30 days of hire.
