About Us:
Family Help Center is a non-profit organization focused on child welfare initiatives and programming throughout Erie County. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our special team and help us maintain accurate financial records to support our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with budget preparation and financial planning.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded in compliance with non-profit accounting standards.
- Maintain organized filing system for financial documents.
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation when required.
- Perform other finance-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a non-profit environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (SAGE preferred) and MS Excel.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles is a plus.
- A high school diploma is required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
Work Schedule:
Flexible, part-time hours (approx. 10-15 hours per week).
