We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our dynamic nursing team. Job Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of nursing services.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
- Manage the nursing department budget, including capital equipment purchases and operational expenses.
- Lead and supervise a team of nurses and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with other department heads and hospital administration to integrate nursing services with overall hospital operations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards such as those from the Joint Commission.
- Maintain current knowledge of advancements in nursing procedures; evaluate and recommend new equipment or technologies for adoption.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between the nursing department and referring physicians, ensuring clear communication and coordination of care.
- Address patient concerns or complaints regarding nursing services and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Participate in strategic planning for the nursing department, setting goals and objectives in alignment with the hospital's mission and vision.
- Collaborate with medical staff to develop and refine nursing protocols tailored to specific clinical conditions.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Master’s preferred.
- RN License, BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency nursing with progressive leadership roles
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital or facility administration role.
- Experience obtaining and maintaining licensure/certification with regulatory and accreditation bodies
- Proven track record of managing a nursing department or services
- Strong knowledge of current nursing procedures, protocols, and technologies
- Experience with regulatory compliance and accreditation processes, including Joint Commission standards
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets and financial performance
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with medical staff and hospital leadership to integrate nursing services into overall patient care
- Experience with quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives in a nursing setting
- Familiarity with strategic planning and the ability to align departmental goals with the organization's vision and objectives
- Capability to recruit, train, and retain a high-performing nursing team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education in the field of nursing and healthcare
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal radiation safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, NRC, EPA)
- Experience with nursing monitoring instruments
- Ability to develop and implement nursing safety programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and training skills
- Proficiency in record-keeping and documentation for regulatory compliance
- Ability to respond to nursing emergencies and provide guidance
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and audits
- Familiarity with the use and maintenance of nursing devices and materials
- Proficiency with computer systems and software used in nursing safety management
- Willingness to continue education in nursing safety and related fields
- Ability to obtain and maintain any necessary security clearances
