Duties Include:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal staff
- Prepare and draft legal documents, such as contracts, pleadings, and correspondence, wills & deeds. (You must have at least 1 year of experience)
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Assist with case management, including organizing files, scheduling appointments, and maintaining calendars
- Answer phone calls and take messages in a professional manner
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Assist with document management and filing systems
- Coordinate meetings, depositions, and court appearances
- Prepare and distribute legal correspondence and memos
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a legal secretary or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation
- Proficient in clerical tasks such as typing, filing, and data entry
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with legal research tools and software
- Knowledge of legal drafting and case management software is a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
