Family owned clinic looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing quality care to patients in a clinic setting at our office. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in patient service and various medical responsibilities.
Pay rate is $16-$21 per hour based on experience and interview.
Responsibilities include but not limited to
- Patient intake: Greeting patients, verifying insurance information, taking medical histories, and recording current medications.
- Vital signs: Measuring blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight.
- Exam preparation: Preparing exam rooms, assisting with patient draping, and setting up medical equipment.
- Clinical assistance: Assisting the physician during exams, performing basic procedures like wound care, administering injections as permitted by state law.
- Specimen collection: Drawing blood, collecting urine samples, and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Documentation: Recording patient information accurately in electronic medical records, including vital signs, medical history, and test results.
- Administrative tasks: Scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, handling phone calls, updating patient demographics, and completing insurance forms.
- Patient education: Providing instructions on medication usage, post-procedure care, and health maintenance practices.
- Inventory management: Maintaining supplies and equipment in the clinic, ordering new stock as needed
Skills
- Strong communication skills: Ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare staff.
- Attention to detail: Accurate data entry and recordkeeping are essential.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in using medical equipment such as an electrocardiogram (EKG) and blood pressure monitor.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology: Ability to interpret and document medical information.
