Summary: SafeCare is an evidence based, parent education curriculum designed for parents of children 0-5 who are either at-risk for or have a history of child neglect and/or physical abuse. The program aims to prevent and reduce child maltreatment. The responsibility of the SafeCare Home Visitor position is to deliver the SafeCare program of Family Network in accordance with SafeCare standards, with regular support from a supervisor. This position will report directly to the SafeCare Program Coordinator at Family Network. This position is grant funded. It is contingent on funding availability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Accepts and enrolls families in SafeCare services, meeting deadline requirements
o Works closely with Program Coordinator to enroll and serve eligible families.
o Ensures family eligibility requires are met according to DCFS and National SafeCare office requirements.
o Assist in new family screenings and orientation activities.
- Delivers SafeCare services to parents
o Administers assessments required by the program.
o Provides and monitors services to families as outlined in the Safe Care Model Implementation Training.
o Establishes trusting relationships with families, emphasizing a strengths-based approach, assisting in strengthening the parent-child relationship, increasing family’s ability to problem solve, and maintain a safe and nurturing environment for their child(ren).
o Establishes flexible and after hour availability appointments when visit families in their homes.
o Drives to family homes and delivers SafeCare home-based intervention, activities, and curriculum that enhances parent education while being creative and flexible.
o Remains open and responsible to reflective supervision, coaching, and feedback.
o Performs other duties as assigned by SafeCare Program Coordinator.
Planning, preparation, and documentation
o Monitors supplies needed for delivery of service and alerts supervisor when replacement supplies need to be ordered.
o Maintains accurate written and electronic records and documentation. Inputs data in required databases.
o Participates actively in all training programs required and attends additional training as requested at Family Network.
o Reports suspected child abuse and/or neglect as required by Family Network policies.
o May participate in family centered meetings and/or court hearings on an as needed or requested basis.

- Basic Computer skills (Microsoft, Google, and database entry)
Education Requirements
Required:
- Associate’s degree from two-year college or university or technical school.
- Field of Study: Social work, education, sociology, psychology, human services, counseling, or related field in human services.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in social work, education, sociology, psychology, human services, counseling, or related field in human services.
Experience Requirements
Preferred:
- 1 years’ experience in home visiting, case management, child development or parenting education.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Marshallese.
Certification / License / Registry Requirements
- Required: Driver's License (Class D) with good driving record in Arkansas. Candidate must possess at time of hire.
Expected Hours of Work
This is a fulltime, non-exempt position. Work hours are variable to accommodate the needs of program participants, which include afternoon and early evening home visits.
Travel
Travel is primarily between the office and participants’ homes, in the employee’s personal vehicle. Travel between the Area 1 Region counties may be required (Washington, Benton, Carroll, Madison). All travel is reimbursed.

Pay: $35,360.00 - $37,440.00 per year
