Dietitian

Registered Dietitian or CNS - Functional Nutrition

This role is for a Registered Dietitian or Certified Nutrition Specialist within a growing and dynamic nutrition practice, Family Nutrition Solutions. Ideally, the chosen candidate will have experience working with women struggling with gut health (constipation, bloating, IBS) and autoimmune conditions (Hashimoto’s) and have a functional nutrition mindset that will complement the practice.

Schedule:

Part-time position(2-3 days per week) working semi-flexible hours of your choice. Position can develop into a full time position as caseload builds.

Hybrid schedule: Two days remote, one day required at our office in Wilmington, NC.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Evaluate the nutrition needs of a patient by assessing their diet, exercise, sleep, and lifestyle behaviors
• Use motivational interviewing and counseling skills to support behavior change
• Explain health conditions and treatment plans to patients using verbiage the patient will comprehend
• Set clear goals and objectives to help patients reach their health goals
• Conduct scientific research to expand field related knowledge such as the impacts of nutrients, the benefits of diets to body’s functions etc
• Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to identify and connect with patients in need of nutrition counseling
• Interpret blood chemistry and functional labs
• Create protocols based on lab work and be able to thoroughly explain results to patients
• Other tasks, such as recipe development, handout creation, etc. as needed

Qualifications:

Current Registered Dietitian (RD) or Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS)

Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in the state of North Carolina

Minimum 1 year of experience with outpatient counseling

Preferred: Experience with GI MAP, SIBO, and HTMA results; certified in functional medicine

*Willing to train for the right candidate

Experience:

Great written and verbal communication skills.

Willingness to continue training and research to keep current on the latest discoveries and developments in the field.

Strong computer and data entry skills. Expectation that patient records will be kept current.

Compassion and genuine interest in helping others optimize their health.

Thorough understanding of biochemistry and human physiology.

Good understanding of research methods and data analysis.

Proven critical thinking skill.

Starting pay is $35-50/hour, depending on experience
