JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Function: We are currently seeking a qualified and reliable Activities Director. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally organized with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will have experience in all aspects of planning and executing activities for our participants. Management experience is also a plus.
General Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Provide a variety of creative and adaptable individual and/or group activities
- Lead and implement both small group and large group programs according
- Promote events and activities by use of signs, graphic design, website updates, and other processes
- Design and produce a quality weekly calendar of events and daily activities. calendar to be posted and distributed to all residents
- Supervise all outside vendors and entertainers brought on site
- Supervision of staff.
- Prepare budgets and track costs, expenditures, and revenues.
- Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.
- Interview resident/families as necessary and in a private setting.
- Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, as well as other related departments in planning activity programs.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Education & Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree in related field.
- Requires experience working with older adults.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in developing a social activities program.
- Good organization skills.
- Outgoing, warm and caring personality.
- Skills in one or more of social activities such as crafts, music, dance, etc.
- Clear speaking voice.
- Talk and hear in English in person and on phone
- Basic understanding and competence of computer skills, including Microsoft Excel & Word.
- Flexibility to work days
