Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Toddler Teacher to join our nurturing team at the Family of Christ Childcare Center. This role is perfect for someone with a heart for young children and a desire to foster their spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth. As a Toddler Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a loving, safe, and faith-centered environment where children can explore, learn, and develop with Christian values guiding their daily experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a Faith-Centered Learning Environment:
- Incorporate Christian teachings, prayers, and Bible stories into daily lessons and activities.
- Encourage children to explore and express their faith through age-appropriate activities, songs, and discussions.
- Model Christian values such as kindness, respect, and love in all interactions with children, staff, and parents.
- Foster Child Development:
- Provide a stimulating and engaging environment that promotes cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Using curriculum that is web-based via tablets; implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with developmental milestones and Christian teachings.
- Support each child’s individual needs and development through personalized care and attention.
- Safety and Care:
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment in line with safety regulations and policies.
- Monitor children closely to ensure their well-being, both physically and emotionally.
- Assist with daily routines, such as feeding, diapering, and nap times.
- Build Strong Relationships with Children and Families:
- Develop a loving, trusting relationship with each child to support their emotional well-being and confidence.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s progress, activities, and any concerns in a professional, caring manner.
- Encourage and participate in family-centered events and activities to build a sense of community and fellowship.
- Collaborate with Team Members:
- Work closely with other teachers and staff to ensure consistency in teaching methods and discipline, based on Christian principles.
- Attend regular staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Lead by Example:
- Be a positive role model for the children by demonstrating patience, empathy, and a strong sense of Christian values.
- Guide children in learning basic Christian teachings such as love, kindness, gratitude, and forgiveness (fruits of the Spirit.)
Qualifications:
- A strong commitment to the Christian faith and the mission of our childcare center.
- Experience working with toddlers (1-3 years old) in a childcare setting or early childhood education.
- Early childhood education degree or equivalent is preferred (or willingness to pursue certifications or teacher qualified according to MNDHS).
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
- Working knowledge of MN DHS Rule 3 for child care.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative and supportive environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication skills and a warm, nurturing demeanor.
