What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Care Professional/Technician Assistant position at Family Pet Hospital?
Family Pet Hospital is rapidly expanding small animal hospital located in beautiful Northern Colorado. We are in need of a positive, outgoing and self-motivated individual to join our high caliber veterinary staff, all of whom are Fear Free Certified Professionals, motivated to provide excellent customer service and medical care with love. This position is full-time (32-40 hours/week) and alternating Saturday shifts are required. Dependability is a must.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performing start of day and end of day procedures.
- General housekeeping of the practice including the front desk, reception area, waiting area, office, public bathroom and exam rooms.
- Welcoming clients and patients to the practice with a warm and friendly demeanor and providing for their comfort while they are in the practice.
- Managing multiple phone lines with appropriate phone etiquette.
- Restrain animals in a safe, efficient and compassionate manner during examinations and procedures utilizing low stress and Fear Free techniques.
- Prepare specimens for in-house and outside laboratory
- Accurately dispense prescription medications as directed by veterinarian/nursing staff.
- Monitor laboratory supplies and inform the Inventory Manager when supplies need to be ordered.
- Clean and straighten exam rooms, treatment and lab areas. Restock exam rooms with supplies as needed. Assist other team members to keep the public areas of the practice clean and well maintained. Clean and maintain all medical equipment as required.
- Utilization of Practice Management Software (AviMark) to enter new clients, update client/patient information, schedule appointments, create invoices, receive payments, etc.
- Performing patient check in and check out procedures.
- Managing cash drawer and performing end of shift auditing and balancing.
- Scheduling appointments, obtaining all necessary data concerning the patient and owner.
- Preparing all required forms in advance when possible, for patient’s visit, including obtaining previous records when necessary.
- Performing over-the-counter selling of specialty merchandise comprised of pet health care items and sundry veterinary items. Exercising technical knowledge of products sold and demonstrating salesmanship abilities. Explaining and demonstrating products, answering questions concerning products purchase/ use.
Requirements of the job include excellent phone etiquette, great communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
At least one year reception experience in a veterinary hospital is required.
Qualifications:
- Veterinary hospital setting experience is preferred.
- Animal handling is preferred.
- Great attention to detail.
- Strong desire to exceed client’s expectations and provide high caliber customer service.
- Experience with medical scheduling is preferred.
- Experience with phone triage is preferred.
