Job Title: Clinical Staff
General Summary of Duties: Responsible for providing professional clinical care to our patients under supervision of providers and Clinical Supervisor
Supervision Received: Clinical Supervisor
Supervision Exercised: None
Typical Physical Demands: Varied activities including sitting, walking, stooping, lifting, bending, reaching. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and to lift 100 pounds. Occasional stress from workload. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including phone, writing instruments, PC, fax and medical equipment including stethoscope, EKG machine, ear washing equipment, speculums, scales, blood pressure cuff
Typical Working Conditions: Combination of office and exam offices. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations. Hepatitis B vaccination and TB test required.
Education: High School degree required, Graduate from accredited school of practical nursing or Medical Assisting program preferred. LPN’s must hold a license in State of Ohio.CPR certification preferred
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of basic clinical principles and protocols

3. Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety
4. Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records

General Duties/ Responsibilities:
1. Review daily schedule of assigned provider for care coordination.
2. Obtain/complete any necessary documents for appointments prior to patient arrival.
3. Assesses patient's general condition and takes vital signs.
4. Assist assigned provider with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
5. Provides basic patient care as ordered.
6. Documents all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
7. Attends department/team meetings.
8. Follows standing orders to order tests and supplies and give immunizations to improve office efficiency.
9. Assists providers and care managers in identifying patients that need care coordination.
10. Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating provider advice/instructions.
11. Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned which may include: setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocol; cleaning exam/ treatment rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; restocking exam/ treatment rooms.
12. Completes assigned clinical tasks (refills, faxes, etc.) before end of shift.
13. Covers phone triage as assigned.
14. Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines, and confidentiality policies.
15. Other duties as assigned.
