Service Technician III

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Open, close, clean, and perform maintenance tasks and inspections on pools, spas, and related equipment
• Test water chemistry and treat swimming pools and spas; adding necessary chemicals to achieve ideal range on the Langelier Saturation Index (LSI)
• Perform water chemistry diagnosis’ and troubleshooting, using innovative approaches and technology
• Fill out daily fleet vehicle checklists, and perform related tasks as necessary that will ensure the maintenance of vehicle safety, cleanliness, and job preparedness
• Ensure all applicable paperwork is filled out and submitted in a timely manner
• Maintain and transport equipment and chemical stock levels in service vehicles safely and in accordance with applicable laws
• Complete job-related tasks using a job-tracking app (Pool Brain) and provide quotes and invoices to customers in the field when necessary
• Ability to train and instruct Service Technician Journeyman, Technicians I and II, and other employees on-the-job and in a class setting to increase knowledge, training and experience
• Communicate directly with Operations Manager regarding job-related issues and requirements
• Communicate directly with Customer Relationship Manager regarding job scheduling and customer communication
• Filter/Pump Room plumbing and renovations
• Diagnose, repair and/or replace residential and commercial swimming pool/spa equipment, including but not limited to automation equipment and systems, pumps, motors, filters, heaters, plumbing, automatic pool cleaners, and other related equipment
• Ability to install, navigate, and program pool automation systems
• Perform measurements and installations for safety pool covers and spa covers

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Must work and communicate effectively with other employees as a team
• Must have 3 or more years of education, training, and/or commensurate experience with water chemistry, equipment repairs, and/or plumbing
• Must have 1-3 years of experience training employees, and at least 1 year of experience training employees in water chemistry, pool equipment repairs, and plumbing
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and maintain a good driving record in order to provide quality service to customers
• Must be willing and able to work some seasonal and on-call hours
• Must hold and maintain a valid Certified Pool Operator License
• Must adhere to company standards, policies, and safety procedures
• Must share and uphold the Mission and Values of Family Pool Maintenance
• Must be able to read and understand English
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a talent for customer service
• Must have excellent time-management skills and take initiative
• Must have strong attention to detail
• Must have demonstrated professional demeanor
• Must be able to swim

Job Types: Full-time, Temp-to-hire

Pay: From $22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 60 per week
