Overview
Family Practice Associates was founded by Dr. Jeffrey Foxx in 1983 and has grown to one of the largest family practice groups in Central Kentucky. Responsibilities
Clinical Care Assistants function as part of the Clinical Care Team to facilitate patient flow through the clinical area to include patient assessment, assisting with procedures, performing non-physician diagnostic testing as ordered, administering medications, scheduling referral appointments, and giving discharge instructions to patients. Job duties include :
- Preloading patient charts daily, as assigned
- Perform patient history, assessment of current complaint, vital signs measurement, order procedures and test according to FPA standard protocols and document in an electronic medical record
- Assist the physician in performing procedures (stress testing, office surgery, pap smears, etc.)
- Perform non-physician diagnostic procedures (electrocardiogram, audiometry, and pulmonary function testing, etc.)
- Administer medication as ordered, i.e., oral medications, therapeutic injectables, immunizations and allergy injections
- Monitor therapeutic response to medications, such as repeat blood pressure readings, pain relief and / or adverse reactions as indicated
- Perform needed equipment maintenance and upkeep to ensure good working order of medical equipment. Notify manager if any issues are present
- Assist with lunch coverage as assigned
- Stock and set up exam rooms for patient care
- Schedule STAT diagnostic and referral appointments for patients and communicate preparation and proper follow-up
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize reusable instruments and packs.
- Perform Task basket and Procedure / Specialty tracking responsibilities
- Document all contacts and treatments in the patient medical record, e.g., update pharmacy information
- Other duties and responsibilities required for efficient operation of the office in order to provide quality care and service
Specific Requirements
Must be willing to travel between locations (Hamburg and Brannon Crossing)
