Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing and coding for medical services provided to patients. The Medical Biller will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate smooth billing processes.
Duties
- Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage for accuracy.
- Accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to diagnoses and procedures.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Assist in the collection of outstanding balances from patients.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in medical terminology, medical office procedures, and medical billing systems.
- Experience with medical coding, including familiarity with ICD-10 codes.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Previous experience in medical billing is required.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare staff.
