What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counselor position at Family Practice Center?
The Family Practice Center, PC (FPC) office in Hughesville, PA is currently looking to hire full-time staff for our mental health counseling office. Counseling services started in May of 2019 at our office and have been an important aspect of patient care. Most referrals come right from our physicians at the office. Due to the high demand for services, we are looking to expand our team from one counselor to three. We'd love to have you join our team!
Requirements for this job include holding a Master's degree or higher in a counseling or related field. We are looking for those with Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Psychologist credentials in Pennsylvania to help clients in this rural, under-served area with their mental health needs. The position is a W-2 position. It would be 37.5-40 hours per week to be considered full-time.
Clinicians can begin seeing clients on a part-time basis once credentialing is completed by our administrative office in order to work up to full-time status. During this time, pay would be at an hourly rate. We offer competitive pay. Once full-time, clinicians would be salaried based on education and experience. Bonuses are given twice a year for additional reimbursements for sessions (anything over the annual salary).
Job types: full-time (preferred); part-time will be considered on an as needed basis. Full-time clinicians may start at a part-time status until they have a full caseload.
Pay: Salaried, exempt. Ranges from $52,000-$65,000 for full-time employees to start, plus additional bonuses in August and December based on bi-annual reimbursements for sessions.
Time Off: Three weeks of paid vacation upon hire, plus an additional 5 days off for continuing education each year. FPC recognizes six federal holidays, which the office is closed these days each year (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas).
Benefits: FPC offers health benefits to full and part-time employees and their families. A $100,000 term life insurance policy is provided through FPC. Full-time employees also have the option to opt in for additional benefits for short and long term disability, 401K after one year of employment with 4% match from FPC, critical incident, accident, cancer, dental, and vision. FPC also offers a $1,000 yearly continuing education allowance for clinicians. FPC provides a level of malpractice insurance, but clinicians are required to obain their own personal liability insurance annually, which is reimbursed by FPC. Reimbursement is offered for federal and state licensing and certification requirements. Reimbursement for membership dues in organizations (one local, one state, and one national per year) are also given, if desired.
Benefits with Credentialing: Applicants are encouraged to be willing to accept a variety of insurances in order to reduce out-of-pocket costs of therapy for clients. Our administrative office completes credentialing paperwork for clinicians. Administration also can update your license and certification information annually/bi-annually, if desired.
Schedule: The office is open 9am-7pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-5pm on Friday. Clinicians can work outside of these hours at their discretion, including weekends, but this is not a requirement.
Education: Master's degree or higher is required
Work location: In person or virtual (as needed)
Knowledge of using Medent EHR system is helpful, but not a requirement.
