Position Overview:
Family Promise of Greater Cleveland is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering families experiencing homelessness to achieve self-sufficiency. The Employment Program Team Lead plays a key role in the implementation of employment services and serves as a resource and guide for the team, focusing on enhancing client outcomes through project management, program coordination, and expertise. This role does not include direct supervision of staff but is crucial in fostering collaboration, optimizing processes, and supporting case managers in delivering impactful services.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate employment services initiatives, ensuring trauma-informed and trauma-responsive approaches for all clients.
- Drive the client engagement process by establishing trust and collaborative relationships aimed at achieving sustainable employment and educational opportunities.
- Assist in connecting clients to appropriate community resources to minimize barriers to employment, such as benefits counseling, SSI, Medicaid, and other entitlements.
- Conduct employer outreach to identify job opportunities tailored to client interests and strengths, while maintaining strong relationships with local businesses.
- Oversee and manage the Work Experience Program (WEP) opportunities, including recruitment of participating employers and job development activities.
- Support team efforts in job coaching, professionalism training, interview skills development, and post-interview follow-ups.
- Facilitate team meetings to align priorities, address challenges, and share updates on client progress and program outcomes.
- Coordinate with Workforce Development programs to enhance client job readiness and placement success.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training related to trauma, employment services, and client support.
- Maintain and review documentation, creating reports as required by the Director of Programming and Executive Director.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social services or a related field is required; relevant experience in lieu of formal education will be considered.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a non-profit setting.
- Strong understanding of poverty, homelessness, and unemployment, particularly as they impact families and vulnerable populations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to inspire and empower clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of human services, employment resources, and community support systems.
- Strong collaboration skills with a focus on fostering teamwork and mutual support.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
