Job Role: The role of the Director of Development and Community Engagement (DD) is to ensure that Family Promise of Lawrence (FPL) has the financial resources and relationship connections needed to fulfill the mission. In this role, the DD will work closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors. The DD role will oversee all aspects of development, including donor relationship development, planning and directing fundraising events, campaigns, marketing, grant writing, planned giving, and financial accountability. The DD role is a critical component in creating and strengthening donor relationships, community partnerships, and collaborative efforts for community involvement.
Job Responsibilities:
All DD work, decisions, strategic leadership, tasks, and actions will be made with the following organizational strategic movements in mind:

- Move from outputs to outcomes
Specific responsibilities will be varied and will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Empowering Families:
- Raise the funding needed to support the annual budget and develop donor relationships to successfully complete the mission of FPL
Achieving Stabilization:
- Create, evaluate, execute, and manage all FPL Annual Development Plan and fund-raising documents and event plans
- Cultivate donor relationships, manage events/campaigns, report and evaluate trends and outcomes
- Ensure all development financial goals are met according to the approved annual budget and Key Performance Indicators
Community Connections:
- Collaborate and partner with other agencies, organizations, and businesses in our local community to build involvement and connection for successful fulfilment of the mission of FPL
- Communicate and market the mission of FPL and the needs of our community through presentations, formal and informal visits and by creating/maintaining an active social media presence
- Participate with the National Family Promise office in relevant committees and training opportunities
Qualifications/ Education/Skills:
- Exceptional people skills with a strong ability to communicate both orally and in writing
- Must be a self-directed individual with abilities to plan, strategize, execute, and evaluate work and progress
- Highly organized individual with exceptional multi-tasking skills
- Culturally competent and able to work effectively with a wide range of people from different cultures and faith groups, with enthusiasm for work in social justice
- Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school
- Microsoft Office, computer skills, online applications, and basic graphics skills required; experience in Bloomerang helpful
- Fund development and grant research and writing experience a plus
- Must be able to handle detailed information with accuracy and to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Working hours: Full Time and will include evenings and some weekend engagements

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
