Position Overview:
The CMIS Lead is a critical role within Family Promise of Spokane, responsible for leveraging data to enhance our efforts to eliminate family homelessness. This position supports our data-driven approach by managing and analyzing information within the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS/CMIS). The ideal candidate will be skilled in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, or Power BI and possess a passion for technology and innovation to support our community’s needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate entry of family data into the CMIS system.
- Coordinate and manage data exports from internal software (MaP).
- Generate and manage CMIS reports, including Monthly Data Quality checks (MDQR).
- Maintain a schedule for cross-platform data quality checks and corrections.
- Collaborate with CMIS team and staff to improve data input quality.
- Assist in developing and coordinating CMIS processes and strategies.
- Run various reports for the Executive team to support grant applications.
- Build and maintain internal and external dashboards with the Director of Research and Development.
- Research and develop new technologies and methods to improve CMIS capabilities (1-2 hours per week).
- Act as the point of contact for CHHS/CMIS and other assigned agencies.
- Follow strict confidentiality, professional boundaries, and compliance with relevant state laws (e.g., WA State Mandatory Reporter Laws).
- Collaborate with current agency partners and develop new partnerships.
- Attend community meetings and participate in relevant trainings as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- GED or High School diploma required.
- Bachelor's degree in a social services-related field preferred (or a combination of education and experience).
- Certification in applicable software and HUD data analysis is a plus.
Experience:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- At least 1 year of CMIS experience required.
- 2 years of experience working with data containing Personally Identifying Information.
- 2 years of experience with HMIS, EHR, or similar CRM software.
- Preferred knowledge in:
- HMIS/CMIS software and HUD Data Dictionary Standards
- Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets for data management
- SQL/MYSQL, XML/XLSX/CSV/ODT/JSON data formats
- Workflow templates for user tasks (e.g., Intakes, Assessments)
- Python and C# for data analysis (preferred, not required).

Physical & Working Conditions:

- Environment may be busy, chaotic, and loud.
- Work may involve interaction with clients experiencing substance abuse, mental health conditions, or gang involvement.
