What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse position at Family Psychological Associates?
Job Summary:
The LPN actively supports the medical and clinical teams of the agency by using effective communication skills, teamwork, and a positive approach.
Essential Functions
- Take vital signs on all medical patients before their appointment with the prescriber.
- Monitor the medication request line by retrieving messages from the voicemail and following through with the requests.
- Work closely with the prescriber daily to ensure that all the needs of the prescriber and patient are met.
- Be the primary contact for all clients who have medical or medication needs.
- Manage and supply all sample medications.
- Work with pharmacy representatives to keep adequate samples and pamphlets available for prescribers and patients.
- Reviews physician's orders, lab requests, or follow-up needs with patient.
- Follows up with patients on lab results, including the scheduling of any additional tests.
- Administer injections to patients if needed.
- Be administrative assistant back up if needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Education, Skills, and Abilities
- LPN License issued by the state of Pennsylvania.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with staff members and patients in person and over the phone.
- Must be detail oriented and very organized.
- Ability to prioritize duties.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
- Must be able to ascend and descend a flight of stairs several times in one day.
- Be able to stand for at least 4 hours and walk consistently for 4 hours
