The START program works collaboratively with the system of support to improve the lives of individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and co-existing behavioral health needs/mental health concerns. This involves increasing the community's capacity to provide an integrated response as well as utilizing local, person-centered, positive, multidisciplinary, cost-effective, and evidence-informed practices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and support to guests while maintaining effective, positive, and quality operations at the Resource Center.
- Assist guests in achieving personal goals, work on behalf of guests to overcome barriers, respect guests' personal beliefs, choices, and interests, and promote community inclusion and acceptance.
- Provide appropriate assistance to promote health and wellness, communicate with medical professionals, and record information regarding health events, conditions, and status.
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and FREE policies.
- Render first aid/CPR and/or seek emergency medical care as needed.
- Use approved physical intervention techniques when necessary to protect guests.
A minimum of a High School Diploma is required, with an Associate's Degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have an expressed interest or experience in Psychology, Social Work, or other Human Service-related fields.
