Description:
- This position is responsible for facilitating safe activities and interactions between parents and children who have been removed from their homes under protective custody. The role of a Visitation Specialist is to observe and document family visits, model and teach daily living and parenting skills, and coordinate with other providers to ensure continuity of services. Moreover, It is your responsibility to proactively engage, support and intervene as clinically indicated.
Hourly Rate Range:
$13 to $15 per hour

Qualifications:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year experience with children and families at risk, or related field experience preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

Specific Areas of Responsibility to Position:
- Provides supervised visits in the office as outlined by the referral source which may include hands on assistance and education to the family.
- Clearly defines the rules of visitation with all parties involved and notify referring Full Case Manager when rules are violated.
- Informs parents if they are to provide supplies, snacks or meals.
- Monitors and provides a safe visitation environment for children and terminate the visit if it is not deemed appropriate or parties involved have improper conduct.
- Available for flexible scheduling six days a week.
- Participates in case conferences and court appearances upon request.
- Completes mandatory trainings and contributes to ongoing program development and research.
- Coordinates with parent educator and incorporates educational functions into family visits, as required by curriculum design.
- Establishes and maintains appropriate professional files which include all the necessary documentation of the supervised visits.
- Submits visitation reports to Full Case Managers and to the Courts when requested.
- Participates in weekly Supervision with the Clinical Director or designee.
- Maintains current automobile insurance and a valid drivers’ license.
- Utilizes their own vehicles for the occasional transportation of clients.
- Notifies his/her immediate supervisor of any situation causing his/her license to be suspended and/or his/her insurance coverage to lapse.
- Participates in the agency’s Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Program.
- Contributes to the understanding and acceptance of cultural diversity within the agency and the community;
- Complies with all relevant JCAHO standards and regulations.
- Utilizes the agency’s resources in a fiscally conservative manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor
