Qualifications:
- Education Required: Open.
- Education Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience Required: Open.
- Experience Preferred: 3 years of related human services field work preferred.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing and vehicle with appropriate auto insurance required. Must be able to pass the motor vehicle record background check.
Position Specifics
- Typically reflecting a 32-hour work week.
- Position Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm with some nights and weekends.
- Full-time position.
- Nonexempt hourly position.
- $27.05 per hour estimated at $45,000 per year.
- Comprehensive benefits are offered.
- Service Area: Scott, Clinton, Jackson, Muscatine & Louisa Counties
- Positions will include on-call responsibilities.
Position Details
The Advocate of Sexual Abuse will provide comprehensive sexual abuse services to clients in the service area who identify or are identified as survivors, this may include Scott, Muscatine, Louisa, Clinton, or Jackson Counties in Iowa. The Advocate of Sexual Abuse will provide advocacy, case management, emotional support, support groups, and safety planning for clients affected by sexual abuse. Primarily, the Advocate of Sexual Abuse will provide support to survivors at medical facilities, within the legal system, or at other locations in the community as appropriate. The Advocate of Sexual Abuse will also collaborate with other community agencies to ensure the needs of survivors of sexual assault are prioritized. This position participates in the on-call rotation, providing 24-hour in-person crisis response to survivors as requested. This position must have reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance. These responsibilities are carried out under the direction of the Supervisor of Braking Traffik & Iowa Sexual Abuse & Domestic Abuse. This position will need to have a flexible schedule that may include working some nights, weekends, and holidays.
