Qualifications

  • Education Required: Open
  • Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a human service-related field.
  • Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of mental health or substance abuse.
  • Experience Preferred: 2 years of experience working with survivors of Other Violent Crimes.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and vehicle with appropriate auto insurance required.  Must be able to pass the motor vehicle record background check.

 

Position Specifics

  • Position Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm - Some occasional evenings and special events
  • Participation in a rotating on-call shift schedule is required
  • Comprehensive benefits offered
  • Hourly position at $30.05 (estimated at $50,000 annually)
  • Location: Rock Island, Illinois

 

Position Details

The Caseworker of Illinois Other Violent Crimes will provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered comprehensive outreach and services to survivors of homicide and other violent crimes in the communities served. They will act as the single point of contact for assigned cases, as well as guide case progress and management. This position will complete an intake assessment, develop a case plan, and provide or connect individuals to identified resources and services. Programming and services may include but are not limited to effective emotional or trauma-related therapies, housing services, employment training, job placement services, family engagement, and other support services. This position will provide one on one case management, advocacy, supportive services, and emotional support to the individuals and their families. They will provide short- and long-term culturally/linguistically appropriate services to promote health, safety, and well-being. This position requires that one possess and exhibit exceptional judgment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to supervise and lead a team. This position requires reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance. These responsibilities are carried out under the direction of the Supervisor of Other Violent Crimes. This position will need to have a flexible schedule that will include working some nights, weekends, and holidays.
