Qualifications:
- Education Required: Open
- Education Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field.
- Experience Required: Experience working with diverse populations.
- Experience Preferred: 2 years of experience in the field of substance abuse or mental health; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Valid drivers’ license in good standing and vehicle with appropriate auto insurance required. Must be able to pass the motor vehicle record background check.
Position Specifics
- Position Hours: 32-Hour Work Week, typically 8:30am-5pm schedule with some occasional evenings and special events; Flexibility needed for clients' needs and 32 Hour Work Week
- Participation in a rotating on-call shift schedule required

Position Details
The Specialist of Illinois Other Violent Crimes will provide trauma informed, survivor centered comprehensive services to survivors of homicide and other violent crimes as well as to individuals dealing with other trauma and crises, including mental health and responding to Child Welfare Emergency Services calls, in the communities served. This position will participate in the 24-hr crisis on call rotation (covering Rock Island, Henry and Mercer Counties in Illinois); have reliable transportation, and a flexible schedule to accommodate program and survivor needs. They will work varying hours as assigned and work closely with law enforcement to co respond and/or provide custom notifications, as well as working closely with other crisis response services in the region. These responsibilities are carried out under the direction of the Supervisor of Other Violent Crimes. This position will need to have a flexible schedule that may include working some nights, weekends, and holidays.
