About Us:
Family Safety Network is a dedicated nonprofit organization providing vital support to victims of domestic violence and their families. Our mission is to help survivors regain their safety, independence, and dignity through various services, including emergency shelter, legal assistance, and counseling. We are seeking a compassionate and organized individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper/Office Assistant to help ensure smooth operations and continued service to our clients.
Job Overview:
The Bookkeeper/Office Assistant will play a key role in supporting the administrative and financial operations of Family Safety Network. This role combines accounting, grant reporting and office management duties to ensure our records are accurate and our office runs efficiently. Ideal candidates will have experience with QuickBooks and SMARTHR, familiarity with payables and receivables, financial grant reporting and strong administrative skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable using QuickBooks.
- Assist with payroll processing and related tasks in SMARTHR.
- Answer phones and direct inquiries appropriately, offering excellent customer service.
- Schedule appointments and maintain calendars for team members if needed.
- Maintain organized filing systems and assist with general office tasks as assigned.
- Complete monthly financial reports and assist with audits as needed.
- Handle incoming mail and prepare outgoing correspondence.
- Help with donor tracking and other administrative needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience with QuickBooks and SMARTHR (or similar accounting software).
- Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Basic knowledge of payroll systems and related documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.
- Empathy and commitment to supporting the mission of Family Safety Network.
- Previous experience in a nonprofit setting is a plus but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree or relevant certification preferred).
