We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About The Role
This is an exciting role that will play a key role in supporting the Government Procurement Group as a lead agency responsible for delivering the Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) policies for the procurement of goods and services.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Procurement Policy and Capability, the Procurement Policy Officer will contribute to procurement policy development and reviews, contribute to the VGPB Governance Team's compliance program, and support procurement capability development activities.

About You
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with an ability to clearly articulate outcomes, listen to customers / clients / stakeholders and address their requirements within agreed time frames.
- Ability to prepare presentations, briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and to constructively support the delivery of team and organisation-wide outputs
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to utilise systems and tools to contribute to decision making to support excellent outcomes.
- Experience with and knowledge of policy development, standards and guidelines with demonstrated experience in developing and documenting new processes and supporting materials.
- Relevant experience in a policy environment
- Other qualifications of direct relevance to the work of the Group and/or the Department are highly desirable
- Prepare and provide policy advice, guidance and support to government and the Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB).
- Undertake research and analysis on procurement policy issues, using evidence of data to develop recommendations.
- Participate in strategic planning and identify and respond to new and emerging strategic issues impacting on the operating environment.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, constructively working to resolve issues or escalate where required.
- Support a diverse range of policy and procurement projects.
