It’s all part of the way we partner with the community to help every individual lead a healthy life.

About The Role

The Senior Policy Adviser, Diversity and Access will contribute to system improvement and reform activities that focus on improving the health and wellbeing outcomes for diverse Victorian communities including:

  • leading or supporting engagement with sector and community partners, such as the Victorian Refugee Health Network.

About You

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Provide high quality policy advice, options and recommendations to senior management and government based on comprehensive research and analysis.
  • Monitor and report on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present reports, ministerial briefs, and Cabinet submissions.
  • Represent the department on key stakeholder committees and groups concerned with achieving government and departmental objectives and contribute to relevant committee and governance processes.
  • Forge strong connections across the department and with the health sector to share information and facilitate a partnership approach to implementation of key initiatives.
  • Coordinate and develop complex briefing products for Cabinet, Ministerial, senior departmental executive and executive sector stakeholders.
  • Work across multiple projects, including engaging with stakeholders, and working in multidisciplinary teams to meet emerging pressures and demands, as required.

  • Demonstrated understanding of diversity, intersectionality and inclusion approaches.
  • Extensive knowledge of the health and wellbeing needs of diverse communities in Victoria, including refugees and people seeking, multicultural communities and LGBTIQ communities.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to perform meaningful work, making direct contributions toward enabling Victorians to be the healthiest people in the world.
  • A wide range of growth and development opportunities within the department and wider Victorian Public Service & Sector.
