Work Schedule : Monday - Friday
Varied hours between 8 am to 5 pm; must be able and willing to adjust work schedules based on their clinical caseload and the needs of individual clients.
Position Summary
The Recovery Education Care Coordinator is a licensed educator who will support and assist youth facing mental health and substance use challenges. This role focuses on assisting youth engaged in crisis stabilization to maintain their education and pursue educational and vocational goals while they participate in intensive treatment services. Furthermore, the Recovery Education Care Coordinator will assist the early childhood therapy team (Team Little) with training and supporting caregivers and parents on implementing therapeutic and behavioral strategies to improve attachments, disruptive behaviors, and promote social / emotional functioning and development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Recovery Education Care Coordinator :
- Work closely with local school districts to collaborate in multiple areas, including education credits, special services, access to student portals, completed and missed schoolwork and recommendations for re-entry into the classroom or online environment subsequent to the completion of substance use / mental health treatment.
- Work closely with students on maintaining their current school placement as well as credit recovery to enable them to meet their desired educational goals.
- Ensure students maintain or increase their GPAs once they return to their school setting.
- Provide support so that the student may advance to the next grade level with increased social and emotional skills.
- Address behaviors that led students to have problems in traditional educational settings, focusing on their strengths and abilities.
- Address truancy, if appropriate, and help the youth more likely to return to an appropriate educational setting.
- Work closely with the student and their family to increase family involvement, interpersonal support and school functioning during their time in the program.
- Identify resources for developing vocational skills and training.

Other Physical Requirements :
The Recovery Education Care Coordinator must have sufficient ambulatory capabilities to work with children, adolescents and adults in the office setting. Position may require the ability to use physical holding (MAB) with children, adolescents and adults exhibiting out of control behaviors.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Office and Community-Based working environment; requires flexible schedule; frequent interruptions occur; expected to deal with individuals in crisis; risk of exposure to aggressive and / or acting out (verbal and physical) children, youth and adults, and exposure to low socioeconomic homes and neighborhoods.
