What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilitator for Men's Group position at Family Service Association of NEPA?
FSA’s Batterers' Intervention Service (BIS) Group uses the Duluth Model or Domestic Abuse Intervention Project Curriculum. Each group is facilitated by a male/female team. We are in need of a MALE facilitator at this time. The BIS Group is held on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 5pm to 7pm at our main office location-31 West Market Street, Wilkes-Barre. Compensation is $20 to $25 an hour based on experience.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree with three years experience working in human services required. Experience is inclusive of compensated or as an intern, working with children and/or families, and collaborating with other community providers required. Experience and/or knowledge of areas of child development and child welfare services required. Good community networking skills, public speaking skills and written and oral communication skills required. Familiarity with personal computer word-processing and databases preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and access to an automobile to perform program related duties.
GENERAL DUTIES: This position works in the areas of prevention, advocacy, intervention, and case management. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. This position requires non-traditional hours and is a part time position. Under the supervision of the Chief Program Officer, the BIS Facilitator will have the following specific duties:
a) Provide targeted case management / facilitating services based on the BIS Curriculum with individuals and/or families.
b) Have a defined knowledge of and be capable to perform in accordance with the best practice models associated with group therapy/psycho-education groups.
c) Maintain high standards of professionalism including a commitment to protecting client confidentiality at all times.
d) Interface with all involved service providers, to include educational, faith-based and occupational, to assure the continuity and quality of services provided.
e) Maintain accurate client service records, to include reporting data needed to complete the FSA of NEPA quality assurance and outcomes reports.
f) Participate in planning and execution of group activities during non-traditional hours.
g) Successfully complete training in the curriculum and such other related training.
h) Attend to scheduling and logistical needs of assigned program.
