QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Social Work or related social service field required with at least five years of experience in a clinical setting working with clients involved with the child welfare system. Experience working with adolescents and/or families, and collaborating with other community providers required. Good community networking skills, public speaking skills and written and oral communication skills required. Familiarity with personal computer word-processing and databases required.
GENERAL DUTIES: This supervisory position is responsible for the oversight of FFT which is an evidence-based, short-term, intervention program to youth ages 11 to 18 who have behavioral and/or emotional problems and are involved with Luzerne County Children and Youth Services. This is a community based program, which requires frequent home, school, and community visits with adolescents and their parents/caregivers. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. This position requires non-traditional and flexible hours. Under the direction of the Chief Program Officer, the FFT Supervisor will have the following specific responsibilities:
I. PROGRAM
a) Have full knowledge of the agency's functions and services.
b) Have a defined knowledge of and be capable of using the current DSM diagnostic categories for clients as appropriate, for purpose of understanding mental health.
c) Have knowledge of services and resources within the community so as to make appropriate referrals to supplement the resources of the Agency.
d) Maintain high standards of professionalism including a commitment to protecting client confidentiality at all times.
e) Interface with Luzerne County Children & Youth to assure the continuity and quality of services provided.
f) Oversee the accuracy of client service records, to include reporting data needed to complete the FFT program’s quarterly quality assurance and outcomes reports.
g) Adhere to FFT program goals, objectives and values.
h) Distribute, complete, collect, compile and analyze program evaluation instruments.
i) Review and approve, by signature, all case service plans, progress reports and discharge summaries.
j) Meet the then-current established productivity milestones and/or standards promulgated by the Chief Program Officer in collaboration with the CEO and CFO.
II. PERSONNEL
a) Hold all FFT program staff accountable for meeting the caseload size and performance criteria necessary to meet the operational and budgetary requirements of the program.
b) Provide regular supervision and evaluate annually the performance of all FFT program staff.
II. COMMUNITY
a) Develop and maintain statistical reports to aid in program delivery and development.
b) Establish working relationships with community agencies and services.
c) Serve on relevant community boards and committees concerned with human service issues, and communicate and facilitate the FSA service mission.
d) Represent FSA and the FFT program in selected public relations and public education activities.
e) Participate in community events such as health fairs, advocacy, and fundraising in support of the FSA service mission.
