Family Service & Children’s Aid is Hiring a Jackson College Oasis Social Worker:

Looking for a LLMSW or LMSW who enjoys working in a college setting and supporting college students. Want to work in a Drop In Mental Health Center working with other professionals? Enjoy Micro and Macro work? Tired of lots of paperwork and looking for a social work position with limited paperwork, then this is it! No weekends and be done by 3pm or earlier on Fridays. Flexible schedules despite being full-time. We are hiring an individual who:

The Oasis Center is a partnership between Jackson College and FSCA. The Oasis Center is a drop-in behavioral health center located on the main campus and staffed by FSCA. The Oasis Social Worker is a new position that is responsible for assisting the Oasis Center with the implementation of the TogetherAll online resource for students to engage with regarding mental health support and implementation of Mental Health First Aid on the campus. The Oasis Social Worker’s goal is to help new students understand what behavioral health resources are available on campus, when and how to seek those services, and assist with meeting the student’s behavioral health needs on campus. This might include coordination with other programs on-site at the college, working with advisors to identify students that might need more supports, and developing trainings for staff and students relating to behavioral health topics. The Oasis Social Worker may also be responsible for identifying and assessing the mental health and substance use needs of Jackson College Students, including assessment, brief clinical interventions, systems advocacy, individual support, facilitation of groups and education services. Oasis Social Worker assists with promoting mental health and recovery at college events. Oasis Social Worker also assists with our ERN (Employee Resource Network) program with college employees and their families, providing short term mental health support. Very limited paperwork involved with Oasis, which allows for the staff to focus on the services provided. Easy to use EMR system.

Qualifications for position are as follows:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field, with Michigan licensure
  • Experience as therapist working with young adults and experience in trauma, mental health and substance use, preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
