Schedule
We require a full-time Child Development Support Professional for the Smart Start program. This individual will visit families twice weekly in their homes to model positive interactions between children and parents/caregivers.
Key Responsibilities
- The ideal candidate will complete a minimum of 16 hours of training before commencing home visits.
- Visits with families will involve demonstrating reading, play, and verbal interaction behaviors with two-year-old and three-year-old children and their primary caregivers.
- A weekly report of these activities will be completed.
- Regular supervisory meetings, staff meetings, and training sessions will be attended.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent and five years' experience working in human services is required.
- A bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is preferred.
- One year of experience working with young children and parents in a community-based organization is mandatory.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the local community is essential.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, are necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are vital.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality is crucial.
