SUMMARY
Family Service League is seeking a full-time, Licensed Counselor to provide individual and group therapy for children and adolescents with a full range of DSM diagnoses in an educational setting. These clients will be connected to our outpatient mental health clinic known as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). This is an integrated licensed clinic, providing both substance use, mental health, and primary care services.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Counselor will conduct intake assessments, formulate behavioral health diagnoses, and establish treatment recommendations in collaboration with the client and their guardian(s).
- Provide trauma-informed, individual and group therapy to children and adolescents with the full range of DSM diagnoses, including both mental health and substance use disorders, in an educational setting.
- The Counselor will monitor progress towards goals with the outcome centralized on discharge planning after utilizing short-term, evidenced based interventions.
- Complete all clinical documentation in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health in an electronic medical record, including progress notes, intake assessments, care coordination, discharge planning, and treatment plans.
- The Counselor will provide crisis interventions as needed in a school setting.
- Collaborate on referrals, resources, and interventions within a multidisciplinary team of school social workers, psychologists, guidance counselors, teachers, and administration.
- Provide collateral contacts to all relevant referral sources, including family members, school personnel, emergency services, and community organizations.
- Provide additional support/services to the clinic properly, as needed.
- Attend routine supervision/team meetings.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in relevant human service field and an LMSW, LMHC, LCSW or related licensed clinical degree/permit required.
At least one year of experience working in a behavioral health setting required. Experience providing school-based mental health counseling is strongly preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, organization, and verbal and written communication skills required.
Candidate must possess the ability to be self-sufficient, multitask, problem solve, adhere to deadlines, make clear decisions, and work individually and as part of a team.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records required.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
