SUMMARY
Family Service League is seeking a per-diem Skill Builder in our Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) program. CFTSS is a team-based model which provides Mental Health Treatment to children/youth ages 5-20, with the goal of including family members in services whenever possible. CFTSS provides individualized and flexible services which are intended to be provided in youth’s homes and other community settings. The Skill Builder will provide Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) in order to support youth’s mental health needs. The activities are “hands on” and based on the youth’s identified treatment goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Skill Builder will conduct weekly meetings with youth in their home and community.
- Develop Treatment Plan Goals.
- The Skill Builder will help the youth develop skills towards goals identified, focused primarily on activities, which will help the child achieve age-appropriate tasks and function appropriately within the home and community.
- Engage in a variety of activities with the youth, including discussions, role play, games and art activities in order to accomplish these tasks.
- The Skill Builder will provide documentation in the Electronic Health Records and engage in regular communication with team members.
- Participate in weekly supervision and monthly staff meetings.
- Transport the youth as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, high school equivalency, or a State Education Commencement Credential with a minimum of two years’ experience in children’s mental health, addiction and/or foster care; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related Human Services field required.
Demonstrated knowledge of mental health conditions required.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records required.
Demonstrated strong engagement, judgement and problem-solving skills required.
Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to be creative and present ideas and skills in a variety of ways required.
Ability to work both independently, as well as in a team required.
Valid and clean New York State Driver’s License and own a reliable car that is properly insured, registered and maintained to drive from worksite to worksite required.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires sitting for long periods of time and travelling to different client homes, community settings, and other FSL offices.
