Position Overview:
Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
The Revenue Cycle Specialist oversees the entire revenue cycle, managing billing, coding, claims processing, and collections to ensure accuracy and efficiency. It aims to maximize revenue capture, minimize denials, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and payer standards.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Manage the complete revenue cycle process including coding, billing, collections, and payment posting, including accurate coding for behavioral health services.
• Post deposits for payments from payers based on Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
• Manage and evaluate payor contract’s annually to ensure proper compliance and align with fee setting policies and procedures, update fee schedules in accordance with contracts and reimbursement rates.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Intake Specialist to ensure all necessary information is accurately collected during intake and scheduling processes, including private insurance eligibility verification, sliding scale schedule and client assignment to grant funding sources as necessary.
• Monitor regulatory changes (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance) and maintain compliance with industry standards such as HIPAA and CMS guidelines.
• Manage credentialing upon counselor’s fulfilling licensure requirements and enrollment with payers, ensuring timely approval and maintenance of provider records.
• Manage provider enrollments in FSRV’s electronic health record system, ensuring all required information is submitted and updated.
• Work with clearinghouses and third-party vendors to ensure smooth claim submission and payment processing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations.
• Experience with electronic health records and practice management software is required, along with a willingness to become proficient in FSRV’s electronic health record system.
Skills and Knowledge:
• Associate’s degree in health care administration, management, or certificate in medical billing & coding preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail.
Other Requirements:
• Successful completion of background checks, drug screenings.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform light physical activity, including bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
