Summary:
Ensures the implementation of quality age Early Childhood practices that will result in the
obtainment of school readiness, parent engagement, and family engagement as defined by Head Start,
NCPRE-K, and N.C. Child Development Division. Ensures the health and safety of children.

Essential Functions:
- Plans and implements daily lesson plans that focus on the individual needs of children
- Maintains child outcomes results and share results with parents, Child Development Manager, and
- Implements developmentally appropriate practices and activities to strengthen program performance
- Maintains confidential records as required by federal, state, and local mandates
- Collaborates with Head Start Teacher Assistant in a manner that will promote a team teaching approach
- Integrates classroom and home activities and experiences from parents for the growth and
- Ensures parents are welcomed as classroom volunteers and develops a volunteer activity
- Maintains professional competency by participating in career development activities such as field
- Performs such other duties as incumbent upon the position and as assigned
Position Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Birth – Kindergarten Education
- North Carolina Birth to Kindergarten Licensure
- Three years’ experience in direct services to young children
- Requires valid driver’s license and ability to travel between various agency sites, community
Preferred
- Proficient in conversational Spanish
- Supervisor experience with a basic knowledge of management principles
