What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Resident Advisor position at Family Services, Inc.?
Summary:
Ensures that victims reside in a harmonious and supportive environment that promotes their healing and safety. The part-time RA role typically fills 2-4 shifts per month, either 12 am - 12 pm or 12 pm - 12 am on weekends and/or holidays
Essential Functions:
- Manages shelter facility and assists in meeting the immediate needs of the residents, including the handling of emergencies that occur during shift
- Provides crisis intervention services and assists in the recovery process of victims by screening and assessing requests for services
- Maintains an inventory of food supplies and maintenance needs
- Assures quality service by being knowledgeable of and enforcing rules, regulations, legal requirements and community resources
- Maintains necessary records for programming and accountability
- Facilitates new resident orientation sessions
- Assists with the upkeep and cleanliness of the facility, including the sorting of donations, cleaning of bathrooms and kitchen or other shelter areas as needed
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships with staff and external partners
- Promotes a positive image of the Agency by understanding and implementing available program services and abiding by a professional code of ethics
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, college experience preferred
- Minimum of one year experience in human services required
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred
- Demonstrated crisis intervention skills, knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault and an understanding and acceptance of regional social cultural, religious and economic differences

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Maintains physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following: walking, bending, stretching, lifting, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, operating assigned equipment.
- Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.
- Requires valid driver’s license
