We are seeking a Special Events Coordinator to join our team. This part-time position is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating fundraising events and related activities for Family Services. This role involves volunteer management, sponsorship recruitment, donor stewardship, and collaboration with internal teams. This role also interacts frequently with agency volunteers, donors, board members, program staff, and community stakeholders. The hours for this position are approximately 24 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate special events from concept to completion.
- Assist with volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling and overall management for events.
- Identify and research prospective sponsors, donors, foundations, and businesses for event support.
- Develop and maintain event budgets, ensuring expenses remain within approved parameters.
- Collaborate with the communications coordinator to promote events through various channels (e.g., website, social media, email campaigns).
Qualifications
Education:
- Required: Associate's degree Event Management, Communications, Business or similar field or equivalent experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree Event Management, Communications, Business or similar field or equivalent experience
Experience:
- Required: 2 years' event planning or fundraising experience
- Preferred: 3 years large-scale event planning experience within a non-profit setting; familiarity with donor databases
Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to build relationships with volunteers, donors, and community stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software/tools
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with reliable personal vehicle. Maintain required auto insurance and acceptable driving record requirements
