What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Development position at Family Services of NW PA?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Development position is an administrative position and will be part of the Senior Leadership team at FSNWPA. Will also assist the Chief Executive Officer in the completion of his/her duties and responsibilities. Responsibilities including fund development which will include corporate gifts, identification, cultivation, solicitation, growth and stewardship of donor relationships and annual meeting planning, charitable giving identifying and managing opportunities for new and existing programming through seeking out and identifying grant opportunities.
JOB DUTIES:
- Successfully understand and communicates FSNWPA's mission, vision, histry, programs and financial needs in grant writing, and fundraising efforts to include presentations to donors.
- Research, identify and writes high-quality, coherent, organized and compelling grant proposals/narratives. Responsible for reaching annual goals for money awarded through grants.
- Develops, implements and evaluates FSNWPA's annual fundraising plan that incorporates grant proposals, corporate sponsorships and donor gifts.
- Tracks, creates and prioritizes grant opportunities and submitted applications.
- Collaborates with team members to assist with fundraising projects and develop relationships with leadership and staff.
- Leads presentations to potential sponsors/donors and the FSNWPA Board of Directors, as appropriate.
- Develops and maintains relationships with community and business leaders, donors and prospects.
- Manages meetings with donors and community members including scheduling, material and presentation preparation, sharing information, note taking and reporting back to CEO.
- Research, shares and recommends best practices and up to date legal changes in the area of donor funds, planning giving, donor outreach and engagement, and donor data management.
- Coordinates with fiscal on gift, sponorship or donation processing.
- Assists with maintaining database by ensuring all information is current and accurate.
- Engages in community civic and service organizations as a representative of FSNWPA.
- Ensures timely and appropriate acknowledgement of all donations and grants
- Particpates in professional development conferences, activities and associations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) to Five (5) years experience in grant writing and donor solicitations.
- Proven track record in successful grant soliciation for non-profits
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Flexible work schedule including some evening or weekend hours
- Handle multiple tasks and ability to speak and write proficiently in English is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and publishing software is required
- Administrative background is a plus.
