POSITION: Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Center for Counseling and Wellness
REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Center for Counseling and Wellness
PAY RATE: $45,000.00 annually
JOB TYPE: Full time
LOCATION: Erie County
$2,000 SIGN-ON BONUS
Bonus paid out in three increments at 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Counselor in the Center for Counseling and Wellness at Family Services of NW PA functions in the role of a counselor by providing direct social services to clients at the agency's home office. Day and evenings hours are required.
JOB DUTIES:
- Performs methods of drug and alcohol counseling services to clients as assigned.
- Provides drug and alcohol assessments and coordinates case plans with other community agencies.
- Participates in staff development activities, including individual and peer supervision.
- Maintains case records in a timely manner as required in agency policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree or above with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a specialty in human services) or another field which included a practicum in a health or human services agency, preferably the drug and alcohol setting. A Bachelor's degree may be accepted if there is 1-year clinical experience in a health and human services agency, preferably in the drug and alcohol setting.
