The Youth Peer Specialist provides mentorship and support to youth navigating mental health, behavioral, or emotional challenges. Drawing from lived experience, they offer guidance, advocacy, and encouragement to promote recovery and well-being. Responsibilities include facilitating peer support groups, connecting youth to resources, assisting with goal setting, and promoting self-empowerment. The Youth Peer Specialist works collaboratively with families, service providers, and community organizations to ensure youth have the tools and support they need to succeed.

Qualifications: Candidates must have personal experience overcoming similar challenges and be certified or eligible for certification as a Youth Peer Specialist. Strong communication, empathy, and advocacy skills are essential.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Morning shift

License/Certification:

  • youth Peer Certificate (Required)

Ability to Commute:

  • Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706 (Required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (Preferred)
