Family Veterinary Care of Oakdale, CA is a family-owned practice looking for a part-time Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant. In this position, you will be working with a small, motivated, and compassionate team that works hard to better the lives and care for our furry community. You will stay busy assisting fellow technicians and Doctors with educating clients, performing diagnostic tests, radiographs, animal restraint, proper record keeping, completing treatment plans, patient monitoring and more. This is an exciting and fun opportunity, and the ideal candidate will have experience and confidence as a veterinary assistant or technician.

Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations and blood draws
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Take X-rays
- Collect and analyze laboratory samples
- Monitor the health and condition of animals before, during, and after procedures
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a veterinary technician program preferred
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital required
- Knowledge of animal behavior, anatomy, and medical terminology
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary staff
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Proficient in using veterinary equipment and technology
- Willingness to learn and stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine
Job Type: Part-time/Full-Time
Salary: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour, Depending on Experience
