Optometric Technician

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Optometric Technician to join our professional team. Family Vision Center is a well-established and patient-focused optometry practice dedicated to providing exceptional eye care and building lasting relationships with our patients. We are an independently doctor-owned private practice, and not affiliated with any corporate or private equity entities. We are looking for a skilled and compassionate individual who thrives on patient care and exceptional customer service.

The position requires comprehensive optometric technician duties and administrative responsibilities essential to daily operations. Starting salary is $20 per hour, and higher compensation is available for exceptional candidates with advanced skills and experience. The position is full-time, work hours are Tuesday-Friday 8am-5:30pm, Saturday 7:30am-1pm.

Responsibilities

• Perform all standard optometric technician duties, including pre-testing, patient history, and assisting during exams.
• Manage insurance authorizations and verify patient benefits.
• Maintain professional phone etiquette, scheduling, and patient communication.
• Handle patient invoicing and process payments accurately.
• Oversee contact lens ordering, dispensing, and inventory organization.
• Assist with dry eye treatments, including IPL, MGD, and AMT procedures.
• Educate patients on proper contact lens care and post-treatment protocols.

Experience

• Experience as an optometric technician or similar clinical role.
• Familiarity with insurance processes and prior authorizations.
• Experience with dry eye treatments (IPL, MGD, AMT) is preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to execute high-level clinical duties while provide outstanding patient care.
